Introduced in 1990:
Saturn S Series
Saturn—a subsidiary of GM, founded 1985, production ended October 2010. The first Saturn rolled off the Spring Hill, Tennessee, assembly line in July of 1990. Using a “spaceframe” design, allowed the side panels to be made of polymer, as they did not carry any load. This dent-resistant design was a selling point for the company. We can also thank Saturn for introducing the no haggle sales policy. What was on the window, was what you paid. No need to spend hours while the sales rep “spoke with the manager”.
In 2001, a special yellow SC2 coupé model was built, officially named "Limited Edition", but soon known as the "Bumblebee Edition". The "Bumblebee Edition" included embroidered headrests, black leather interior with yellow leather inserts on the seats and door panels, black roof and mirrors, number designation inside fuel filler door. Ninety-nine were produced, each with a certificate of authenticity.
The 1995 Saturn SL was the most stolen vehicle in 2003, while the 1994 Saturn SL took third place among the most stolen vehicles according to insurance industry tracker, CCC Information Services.
